Molten Light

Scott played for me this really, really, really beautiful song about a week ago, and I've not been able to stop thinking about it. I know next to nothing about Chad VanGaalen, but, apparently, A. he's a homebody & a half B. he creates and creates and creates and creates, and C. he illustrated slash animated everything from 'Molten Light' himself.

I'm also pretttttty overwhelmed, captivated, & totally infatuated with this work by Lizzy Stewart, which was inspired by Chad VanGaalen's song. I love it.

I'll find you, and I'll kill you. Sigh.

Workin' Cats

Dudley & I have spent most of today rectifying the pathetic situation that is my Etsy store. It's still basically empty, but at least we (I) managed to take some pictures of a few items to eventually add to said shop. Mr. Cat did a bit of inspecting, belt wrastling, and general overseeing of the day's activities. Judging from the above pictures, things will soon be stocked with exactly 2 new belts...

These are the sorts of photos that confuse a girl into making questionable headwear choices for the fall.

My job rules.

Yet another semester has passed, ending last Thursday, and I've collected 3 more reasons why my job is the BEST:

A. My students grab me around the waist whilst posing for pictures. My IRL friends don't even do that! That's love, right? Right?!?

B. They also let me do hilarious supermodel moves for the camera. AND they think it's totally clever and not at all obnoxious!

C. They do really adorb things like adding commemorative 'Albany Park 2010' labels in novelty fonts to the bottom right-hand corner of their photos before they send them to me.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: My students are a bunch of goobers, and I love them.

How awesome is this Wild Unknown print?!?

I think, specifically, its awesomeness lies in the fact that it's completely customizable. Meaning that, instead of having my non-existent wedding date penned into the ribbon, I can get the names of my three darling felines calligraphed instead. Which should successfully sustain my current reign as the cat ladiest gal around.

First Aid Kit

Daytrotter posted a totally rad First Aid Kit session this week, the sort of rad that means I've already listened to it approximately 389487 times. I'd probably wander over and get my grubby little mitts on it, if I were you.

A Tie-Dye PSA

Do not underestimate the importance of protective hand gear whilst tie-dying. I had to go to school like this today. And you should see my fingernails!

Are these totally awesome or totally not awesome?

Part of me thinks that it would be totally rad to own a pair of Dieppa Restrepo denim oxfords, if only to have head-to-toe Canadian tuxedo capabilities. But, then, the smarter part of me thinks that that would be not awesome and totally bizarre. Maybe I've got prison goggles because they're on sale & in my size. Advise within.
