Welp. It's the spring. That means that I want to buy things. Shit.
Pops & I went to Seattle!
I've been a bit on the absent side lately, as life has become rather busy. Between finishing the semester at school and taking the first vacation with my father since I was 15 years old, I've had a bit to do.
We visited Seattle & Bellingham, wherein we saw lotsa flowers, hiked, ate lotsa food, drank lotsa beers, laughed with old friends, took a couple of absurdly backlit portraits, bought a pretty cool old fisherman's vest, and endured weather, dare I say, more miserable than Chicago's. It was a totally awesome time.
Stuffs for the iPhone.
I have finally joined this century! I now have an iPhone!
Of course, within 9 days of owning it, I have managed to drop it on the pavement and crack its LCD screen. Today, on day 16 of ownage, I am thinking I should probably invest in some protection items. I reallllly want that Clare Vivier pouch, but then a blue pen will probably explode in there, and all I'll have to show for myself will be an ink-splattered leather bag and a semi-useable phone. A day in the life of a klutz.
Calllll meeeee.
Welllll, lookee here!
Stephen Eichhorn's at Urban Outfitters! I might just have to purchase this very affordable piece, paint that heinous silver-y distressed frame white, and add it to the collection. Way far cool.
I have just applied to grad school!
Ladies and gentlemen, the application is in! Not 5 minutes ago! I am officially an applicant! Gaudy, adjective-driven essay written! Financial aid form completed! Resume impressified! Master of Social Work, here I come! Hopefully! If you let me in, Programs!
(This is not a picture of me applying to graduate school. This is a picture of me making pizza. No pictures of the former exist. Such is life.)

WHAT are these new Mociun items up on Totokaelo?!
How have I never seen this stuff before? Those asymmetrical tanks are totally, way good.
PS. Cute model, I love you.
I have a gigantic, mayoral crush on Miguel Del Valle.
Mr. Del Valle came to the community center a few weeks ago to talk to our students about his mayoral campaign, and I am here to tell you that he is a mayoral dream boat. Like a giddy little schoolgirl, I am really looking forward to checking his name on the ballot tomorrow, whether or not I think he has a chance at winning this election. And, yes, that's me, front and center, grinning like a mega-nerd.
Love Party
We spent most of Rachel's party on the floor, delighting over each others' valentines. It was pretty good.
Happy Love Day! Past Tense!
This year, my valentines featured prominently the beloved fifth member of my household, Dorka. Dorka holds a dear place in both my heart and my dining room walls, and she did a lovely job modeling for her valentines and hand penning each. On Sunday, Rachel held a little love soiree wherein me and my pals brought handmade valentines to exchange. We also made little valentine-mailboxes, which was my favorite part.
Oh dear.
Dusen Dusen Fall 2011
So, you're telling me that I have to wait for this?!?
I'm a little concerned that I might need that braided-waist, denim skirt, like, rightnowatthisverymomentnow.

Anybody speak Russian around here?
I think I've just hit the Dieppa Restrepo motherload! Except, I don't know how much anything costs at this 'Chief Store,' and I can't figure out where I'd click to go about buying a pair, and the shipping prices aren't clearly, or at all, labeled! But, I'll tell you what- $7,110 USD does not seem like a good deal the peach, patent oxfords, as beautiful as they may or may not be. I could use some guidance right about now.
Rachel is having a Valentine's Day valentine exchange on Sunday.
I think it's pretty obvious that she needs this print by Dutch Door Press.
We got some SNOW here.
I emerged yesterday for the first time in 45 hours to have lunch with Rachel, and, boy oh boy, it was SNOW CENTRAL out there. The only places to walk were these weird, narrow snow tunnels that traversed both the sidewalks and the streets, and the world was blindingly, eye-burningly white. I think I kept my sunglasses on for the entirety of the day, until the sun was safely beneath the horizon and any corneal harm was avoided.
Blizzards are totally cool.
It's a Blizzard!
We finally got our piles and piles and gobs of snow in Chicago!! I have been super jealous of all of your snowstorms and snow days and snow men and snow fun along the East Coast this winter, and I am here to gleefully say that we got ours, too. And we even had snowthunder!!
I woke yesterday morning to find puny, dirty, little snow drifts all over my house, made as the 50 mph wind blew through the cracks in my windows and doors. Yes, those are my UGGS. That's right. MY NAME IS LINDSAY, AND I STILL WEAR UGGS TO DO THE LAUNDRY.
First time since 1999 that Chicago Public Schools have been closed for a snow day! And it's Snow Day 2! I'll take it!
