Vonlenksa Vintage, I'm totally picking up what you're laying down.
VDC

Through the magic of unadultered internet clicking last night, I bumped into this little shop. Now, I can't really be sure of much here because A) I don't read French & B) I'm not even certain that that is French. Nor am I clear about how much anything costs as I'm not good with conversions. However, I am quite satisfied in saying that I need dress number A, else this summer will be a total bust.I didn't know things of such awesomeness existed!!!
Thanks to Kate & Megan, I now know that QUARTER-HOLDING-PENDANT-NECKLACE-THINGIES really do exist. I'm not being at all smart-alecky when I say that I have been serrrriously searching for some sort of laundry-money storage device for the past 4 years. Last weekend at a garage sale, Rachel picked up a little beaded, Native American souvenir, thunderbird neck pouch for hers, and I was ten kinds of jealous. Not now, Rachel. Not now.
This is right up my alley.
Hands!
There's something about teensy objects strung about a necklace that will never fail to amuse and delight me. As such, these Sisbro Design porcelain hand necklaces elicited a jump, squeal, and little leg dance from me on this Friday evening.
Mociun Fall 2010
Caitlin Mociun has just put up a few beautiful images of her Fall 2010 collection on her new blog. My (ever-eloquent) thoughts on the matter: 'Guuuhhhuuakjfiadj;fjdsakluh!!! GOOD!!!' Are those smokey swirls? Topography? Oysters? Whirlpools of loooove?
Any which way, I am quite reminded of this Hound top that I've been angst-ing over all spring.
You designers are going to make a PAUPER out of me.
(And, PS!, Does this not want to make you get married, like, this afternoon?!?)
Speaking of backpacks...
If I was a thousandaire & had $299 to drop on a backpack, I'd absolutley, 100%, right now buy Rachel Comey's tarpalin pack instead of the Baggu number. I glove it. Also avail here.
Happy Bachelor's Degree, Rachel!
Today, May 15, 2010, a one Miss Rachel Coulter becomes a Lady Bachelor of the Arts! AND, to commemorate said gigundo occasion, she's slapped together this deliriously adorable announcement!
Of course, like a schmuck, I'm not in Chicago this weekend to cheer her on at the graduation ceremony slash make fun of her cap & gown. So, here goes nothing:
'Ra ra ra, Rachel! Way to graduate from art school! Wooooooh! Ra ra raaaaaa!'
Way to get your diploma, dude!
Goodbye, City!

I'm off to a farm in Kalamazoo, Michigan this weekend wherein I'll partake in some beers from Bell's, goof off in a day long soap-making class with my Mumsie, and watch my Dad cooper (or pour molten metal into cinderblock molds? I don't remember which man-class he's taking...) Bye bye, Chicago! See you on Monday!
Do I go crazy-sassy-Linzo or monotone-navy-Linzo?
Since the recent demise-by-salad-dressing-leakage of my awesome, supple, vintage, irreplaceable leather Norwegian Daypack, I've been considering the favorite Baggu canvas backpack as a cheap bandaid. The questions becomes: Do I go ocean or do I go navy? Do I go (relatively) color crazy or do I stick to my uniform color scheme? Please advise.
Make way for the lady with the Illinois Identification Card!
Ladies and germs, it is official. After 4 years and 237 days in Chicago, I am finally a real, live resident of this fine state of Illinois. That's to say that I am an identification-card carrying, non-driving, voting member of the Land of Lincoln. 2 months worth of schlepping around to sorry government agencies and a new birth certificate, social security card, voter id, & 20 buckaroos later, I now, wholly and officially, have an identity in the state of Illinois. The picture-taker dude even let me smile for my big moment!!!
And, as it turns out, it is close to impossible to take a reasonable, information-less Photobooth shot of an ID:
It's been a big day today. A BIG BIG day.
